Children gathered around an instructor learning

Have you ever hooted with the owls; unravelled a murder mystery; imagined the life of a pioneer settler; experienced the War of 1812; planted trees; paddled along quiet shores or reeled in a big fish?   These experiences and more are waiting for you and your family at Long Point Region Conservation Areas.

LPRCA hosts a number of nature and heritage events throughout the year providing opportunities for both adults and children to learn more about local environmental issues, and to take action towards achieving a healthier watershed. These events are also great opportunities for families to get outdoors and have fun!

Long Point Region Conservation Areas are popular locations from which community organizations host workshops, presentations and special events.  These partnerships provide an opportunity to increase awareness for programs and facilities offered at LPRCA parks and promote environmental awareness.

Each year, conservation and heritage education programs delivered at Backus Heritage Conservation Area, reach more than 4,000 students and provide them with opportunities to learn more about local history and nature.
